As part of our preparation for next year’s school budget, we have formed a subcommittee of the BudgetAdvisory Committee that will focus on State Aid Advocacy.

Revenue to support education in the William Floyd School District is pretty evenly divided between State Aid and local property taxes. Next year for the first time, a property tax cap of 2% will be enacted which will limit this source of financial support. State Aid to William Floyd has declined over the past three years. Without a significant increase in State Aid to our district next year, continued reductions in staff and student programs will be necessary. Our students and residents deserve better.
