The 2009 H1N1 (referred to as “swine flu” ) is a new influenza virus causing illness in people of all ages. This new virus was first detected in the United States in April 2009. This virus is spreading from person-to-person worldwide, much the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) signaled that a pandemic of 2009 H1N1 flu was underway.

Public health officials want people to protect themselves against pandemic flu now by learning healthy habits that help to reduce the spread of germs. Please review the list below and assist us in implementing these important tips. Rest assured the William Floyd School District is taking all proper measures necessary to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.
